This wonderful pair have been with Diverse Abilities for many successful years. Both occupants are supported to manage their physical and learning disabilities. They are bright and happy individuals with brilliant personalities.

The male is a true gentleman who has an interest in trains! He is a big music fan who loves going to the cinema, bowling, sailing in the summer and benefits most from positive gentle engagement from his support staff.

The female we support is a vibrant and intelligent lady who loves to make sure that she’s always looking her best, she loves being supported to go to her pottery class and enjoys swimming!

Hourly Rate : £13.00 per hour, £50 per sleep-in

Location: Poole, BH17

We have 2 contracts available, working on a 2-week rolling rota

Vacancy 1: 19 hours per week, 2-week rolling rota

Week 1

Monday 7am-5.15pm

Saturday 7am-5pm

Week 2

Sunday 9.30-5pm

Monday 8pm-10pm , Sleep overnight

Thursday 2pm-10pm

Friday 8pm-10pm, Sleep overnight

Vacancy 2: 20 hours per week, 2 -week rolling rota (Please note vacancy 2 must hold a UK Manual driving license)

Week 1

Sunday 7am-4.30pm

Thursday 2pm-10pm

Friday 10am-12.30

Week 2

Monday 7am-5.15pm

Saturday 7am-4.45pm

More about the role…

What you will be doing:

As a Personal Support Assistant, you'll be supporting adults with disabilities in their own homes, helping them to live as independently and confidently as possible. Every day is different- one day you might be supporting with cooking a new recipe or attending local events, the next you could be offering emotional support or attending an ABBA tribute act (see full job description above)

  • You will support with personal care (regulated activity), emotional support and practical support

  • Help with day-to-day activities, including cooking and cleaning

  • Provide encouragement to enjoy social activities and community engagement

  • Be a caring and respectful presence in someone's life

What we are looking for:

  • Kind, caring and reliable individual

  • Fun and patient, with a good sense of humour

  • Passionate about helping others to live their lives to the fullest

  • You do not need experience, just the willingness to learn and we will support you to complete a level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, giving you the confidence to thrive in your role.
