Get involved & volunteer
Volunteering is crucial to the work we do at Diverse Abilities, and we need caring people with free time, like yourself, to help out.
Donating your time is just as valuable as giving money, so it really does mean the world to us. You can work within our services and alongside the people we support, or with our fundraising team at events and in the office.
See the many ways that you can get involved with helping to support people with disabilities across Dorset below.
Why volunteer?
As well as making a huge difference to the charity and the people we support, there are many ways in which volunteers can personally benefit from volunteering.
Learn new skills – discover something you are really good at and develop it into a tangible skill
Meet new people – our volunteers come from a range of different backgrounds, and many friendships have been formed
Enhance your CV – volunteering experience helps you stand out from the crowd
Gain experience – if you’re thinking of a change of career, why not explore a new field?
Discover new interests – expand your horizons by trying something you’ve not done before
Improve mental wellbeing – volunteering helps boost your confidence, improves your health, and gives you a sense of achievement
